Story

HaegonKim_Oct2022-109_edited.jpg

U.S. Citizen, but made in Korea. I earned my master's degree in engineering and started my career as a project engineer in Seoul back in 2008. In 2011, my wife and I relocated to the U.S. with our two young daughters, and I pursued another master's degree in engineering at the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em!).

In 2013, I started a real estate investment portfolio and a consulting business using my two credit cards in Houston, Texas, while working a full-time job as an engineer. Despite the daunting obstacles of tough immigration, a sudden layoff, and an unjust lawsuit, I refused to be defeated. Instead, I saw these setbacks as opportunities for growth and learning, strengthened by my unwavering faith in Jesus.

I’m not intimidated by what I don’t know. If anything, it makes me all the more curious. I learn and find out why. I’m passionate about creating ways where there seems to be no way. I’m passionate about helping others do the same.

Practicing taxes is another pathway to promise. It’s another bushwhacking exposition that will create new stories.

Looking forward to saving your taxes.
